This course is designed for potters who are already comfortable with the basics of wheel throwing and are looking to build confidence, improve consistency, and refine their technique. Throughout the course, we will focus on developing stronger fundamentals by improving posture, body positioning, and wheel ergonomics. Together, we'll identify common mistakes, learn how to correct them, and build habits that make throwing feel more controlled and efficient. As your confidence grows, you'll explore throwing with larger amounts of clay and creating more intentional forms, with an emphasis on consistency, proportion, and control rather than simply making bigger pieces. With small group sizes and an individual approach, you'll receive personalised feedback and guidance tailored to your goals and current skill level. The course includes clay, use of all studio tools and equipment, professional guidance throughout the sessions, and the trimming, glazing, and firing of 2 selected pieces (we focus mainly on practice and choosing the right pieces to fire). Your finished work will be ready for pickup at the studio approximately 4 weeks after the final session. This course is intended for participants who already have experience throwing on the pottery wheel. If you are completely new to ceramics, we recommend starting with our beginner wheel course before joining this class.
