Ceramic Wall Decor/Shelf Workshop

Service Description

In this 2-hour beginner-friendly workshop, you'll learn the basics of slab building while creating your own ceramic wall shelf. Inspired by organic shapes and minimalist design, you'll handbuild a unique piece that can hold dried flowers, candles, jewellery, small plants or your favourite decorative objects. Using slab-building techniques, you'll design the shape of your wall piece, create shelves or holders, and add personal details to make it truly your own. No previous clay experience is needed—our teacher will guide you through each step of the process. Because ceramic wall pieces need to fit safely inside the kiln, there are maximum size restrictions, which will be explained at the beginning of the workshop. These guidelines ensure your piece can be successfully dried, fired, and glazed. The workshop includes 500 grams of clay, use of all tools and materials, professional guidance, and the finishing of one selected piece. After the workshop, the studio will glaze your work with a transparent glaze and fire it in the kiln. Your finished ceramic wall shelf will be ready for pickup in the studio in approximately 4 weeks. Food and drinks are not included in this workshop. Please note: This workshop focuses on creating a decorative wall piece using slab-building techniques. The design should remain within the size guidelines provided during the class to ensure it can be safely fired. Working with clay is a handmade process, and small variations are part of the beauty of every ceramic piece. PICK-UP As soon as your piece is ready, we will send you an email with our available pickup days and times. Please make sure the email address used for your booking is correct and keep an eye on your spam or junk folder. If we are unable to reach you due to an incorrect email address or emails being filtered, we cannot take responsibility for missed notifications. We kindly ask you to collect your piece within 3 months of sending our pickup email. Due to limited storage space, any uncollected work after this period may be donated. If you have not received an email after 4 weeks, please don't hesitate to contact us and we'll be happy to check the status of your piece.
