Tiny Trinkets from Clay

Think small: Mini sculptures, charms or tiny objects like fridge magnets, keychains or hair clips!

Service Description

Build a playful collection of miniature ceramic objects: think small shelf companions, tiny sculptures or functional items, like fridge magnets, keychains, hair pins or buttons. In this workshop, participants will create up to 5 miniature ceramic objects - be mindful of your time, since small objects require more time attaching pieces in a secure way, detailing and to enjoy a careful/calmy painting moment. Ideas and inspiration: • Small food (popcorn boxes, fries, sweets) • Mini animals or creatures • Body parts (lips, hands, hearts, boobies) • Objects, symbols, icons, abstract mini forms What we’ll do: • Sketch ideas and work with visual references • Learn how to simplify forms so they survive drying and firing (thinner parts have a higher risk of breakage) • Learn how to pinch from a single clay block or to attach tiny elements securely • Speed-dry pieces using a heat gun • Apply colourful underglazes in the same session (about 35-40minutes minutes to paint) What’s included: • Up to 150g of Clay for up until 5 mini items (about 30g/item), emphasising craftsmanship over quantity • Colourful painting included • Bisque firing by the studio • Transparent glaze applied afterwards Important: Beads or jewelery elements are not suited for this workshop since they require different techniques and glazing/firing methods. We have other workshops dedicated to teach them the proper way - check them out.
